The upcoming Panjappur Integrated Bus Terminus in Tiruchirappalli is nearing completion, with over 93% of the work done. The grand launch is expected by the end of March 2025.
Located along the Trichy–Madurai National Highway, this ₹492.5 crore project spans 40 acres and will accommodate over 2 lakh commuters per day.
Facilities include air-conditioned waiting halls, escalators, elevators, food courts, retail stores, and modern washrooms. The terminal will also have an adjacent omnibus stand, truck terminal, and is set to boost Trichy’s infrastructure and real estate.
Multi-level flyovers worth ₹331 crore are also being constructed by NHAI to ease traffic near the terminus.
The terminus will be named after Dr. M. Karunanidhi, with the truck terminal dedicated to Perarignar Anna.
