Master plan of Runway expansion and as well as airport expansion in #Trichy. As per the plan, no flora and founa will be affected. The Uyyakondan channel will be redirected same like Sengalthode channel at Nedumbaseri during the construction of #Kochi airport. A word class plan.
Runway Extension
- Current Length: 2423 meters
- Proposed Length: 3947 meters
- Purpose: To accommodate larger aircraft and increase the airport’s capacity.
Terminal Building: - Existing Capacity: 34582 passengers
- Proposed Capacity: 50217 passengers
- Features: Expanded check-in counters, security screening areas, and passenger amenities.
Cargo Terminal:
- Purpose: To facilitate the handling of cargo shipments and support the region’s trade activities.
Other Infrastructure Upgrades: - Apron Expansion: To accommodate more aircraft.
- Car Parking: Increased parking facilities for passengers and visitors.
- Link Taxiways: Improved connectivity between the runway and terminal areas.
- Isolation Bays: Dedicated areas for aircraft maintenance and inspection.
- ATC Tower: A new, modern air traffic control tower.
- Technical Block: Facilities for airport operations and maintenance.
